Our doctor completes a thorough comprehensive exam in order to identify the source of the problem by reviewing all movement systems that have changed because of the injury. This type of comprehensive care has shown to have lasting results by identifying/correcting the root cause and all of its sub-causes.
First. we perform a comprehensive exam looking at the patient’s history to find certain patterns that could have led to the pain and dysfunction. We then look at the posture to identify specific imbalances that are aggravating these problems. Next, we put the patient through our gold standard assessment of movement tests that will identify exactly which muscles are not functioning and which muscles are overcompensating (doing all the work). As we proceed through our exam, we then perform neurological tests to identify dysfunctional joint segments that are compressing nerves, creating inflammation and thus pain. We confirm these tests with hands on palpation assessment and orthopedic testing to ensure specificity and a proper diagnosis.
